ABOUT US

Broad Lane Family Practice was established in 1985. We are perfectly located in the heart of Blackpool. Our mission is to deliver accessible, confidential, and compassionate care for the people of Cork City. We are an affiliated UCC training site, training both medical students and GP trainees every year.

Dr. Tom English

Dr Tom English Mb Bch BAO MICGP MRCGP is the founder partner at Broad Lane Family Practice.  He has been working as a GP in Blackpool  since 1985. He has been a trainer for GPs on the Cork GP training scheme since 2006, and a tutor for GP education with the Irish College  General practitioners for over 28 years.

He has special interest  in orthopaedic medicine and joint injections. He is also a trained tutor in dementia care and he has significant experience in this as well as care of the elderly and nursing home care. He is a graduate of University College Cork.

Dr. Trish Horgan

Dr Trish Horgan Mb Bch BAO MICGP joined Broad Lane Family Practice in 2002 . She has an interest in women’s health,  including contraception, menopause care and early medical abortion care. She is a trainer of GPs with the Cork GP training scheme and a tutor in contraception and early medical abortion.

She is a published author of GP based research, and is also a member of the Recurrent Miscarriage Research Advisory Group at Cork University Maternity Hospital. Dr Horgan is a graduate of University College Cork.

Dr. Robert Gee

Dr Robert Gee Mb Bch BAO MICGP has recently joined Broad Lane Family Practice, having trained as a GP here in 2019. He is a graduate of the Cork GP Training Scheme, having gained experience in general medicine, cardiology, obstetrics, gynaecology, psychiatry and paediatrics.

Dr Gee is a graduate of University College Cork and a published author of GP based research.

Dr. Robyn Archer

Dr Robyn Archer Mb Bch BAO MICGP has recently joined Broad Lane Family Practice, having graduated from the Cork GP Training Scheme in 2021.
Prior to qualifying as a GP she gained experience in both practice and in hospital settings, working in general medicine, psychiatry and paediatrics.


She has an interest in women’s health, with specialist training in contraception and early medical abortion. She is a graduate of University College Cork.

Dr. Robyn Archer

Nurse Regina Moynihan

Regina Moynihan RGN has over 20 years experience delivering expert patient care at Broadlane Family Practice. She holds training certification in General Practice nursing, cervical smear taking, wound care, vaccination including childhood immunisation, diabetes care, and phlebotomy. She holds experience in anesthetics, theatre recovery and care of the elderly. She is a member of IGPNEA, is a state registered midwife, Paisley Maternity Hospital, Scotland, and holds a Diploma in Asthma Care.

Nurse Regina Moynihan

Nurse Jess Stemmet

Nurse Jess Stemmet is a registered nurse with a broad range of experience. After obtaining her degree in South Africa including General, Midwifery, Community and Psychiatric Nursing, she worked in Neonatal Intensive Care. After possessing a diploma in Occupational Health, she managed 8 clinics in a large forestry concern in rural KwaZulu Natal. Often without radio coverage, she was required to use her medical expertise in life threating situations, without access to a doctor. Providing first aid training and application, family planning, vaccinations, treatment of minor illnesses, chronic disease education and care, sexually transmitted disease education and care, personal hygiene education and antenatal care. After emigrating to Ireland, she has worked in private Nursing homes as a staff nurse and then a clinical nurse manager.
